What is Career Guru AI?
Career Guru AI is an Indian career guidance platform for students and parents. It helps you decide which stream to take after Class 10, which exams to prepare for, and what career to aim for — based on structured, verified data. It works like a decision engine, not a generic advice site.
Who is this for?
Parents of students in Class 5–9 who want to plan ahead, and students or parents making stream and career decisions after Class 10. Coverage includes all major streams — Science (MPC, BiPC), Commerce, Arts, and vocational/ITI routes.
Does Career Guru AI replace a career counsellor?
No. It is a structured data tool to help you understand your options clearly before seeking professional advice. It covers 85 career paths, 95 exams, and real competition statistics — but it does not know your individual circumstances, school grades, or family situation. Always verify critical decisions with a qualified counsellor or institution.
Is this service available in languages other than English?
English only at this time. Regional language support is planned for a future release.
Data sources and accuracy
Where does the career and exam data come from?
Competition statistics (seats, applicants, success rates) come from official Indian government and regulatory bodies: NTA, JOSAA, UPSC, ICAI, SEBI, UGC, CLAT Consortium, NCVT, and NID. Salary benchmarks are derived from publicly available industry surveys and job market data. We do not use private scraped databases as a data source.
How accurate is the salary data?
Salary figures represent broad industry benchmarks — entry level, mid-level (3–5 years), and senior (7+ years). They are based on publicly available market data and are updated periodically. Individual salaries vary significantly based on employer, city, skills, and performance. Always cross-check with current job listings before making financial decisions.
How often is the data updated?
Competition statistics are updated annually after official results are published by the respective exam authority. Salary data is reviewed periodically. The footer of each page shows when data was last verified. Rs.499/year subscribers receive an annual notification when data relevant to their child's saved plan is updated.
Can I trust the exam seat counts and cutoff data?
The seat counts and competition stats are sourced from official exam authority press releases and annual reports (NTA, JOSAA, ICAI, etc.). Exam rules, eligibility criteria, and seat counts change every year — always verify from the official exam authority website before making any decisions.
Does the AI generate career facts or salary data?
No. The AI (Google Gemma) is used only to format and summarise data that already exists in our structured database — it never invents facts, salary figures, or exam statistics. 95% of the platform is pure structured JSON data; AI is involved only in the Rs.199+ decision summary and free-text chat features.
Plans and payment
What is free and what is paid?
The Free tier gives you the full interest quiz, all goal matches, complete path recommendations, and fallback alternatives — with no login required. Paid tiers add salary data (Rs.99), class roadmaps and AI chat (Rs.199), and saved plans with dashboard and annual updates (Rs.499/year).
Can I try before I pay?
Yes. The entire quiz and result page — including career path, stream recommendation, and fallback scenarios — is free with no account required. You only need to pay when you want salary data, class roadmaps, or AI features.
Are payments secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never see or store your card or UPI details. You will receive a Razorpay payment receipt by email if you have saved an email address on your account.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are non-refundable once access is granted, because the service is delivered digitally and instantly. If you were charged twice due to a technical error, write to [email protected] within 7 days with your Razorpay payment ID and we will investigate. See our full Refund & Cancellation Policy.
How do I cancel the Rs.499/year subscription?
Go to your Dashboard → Subscription → Cancel. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refund is issued for unused days.
Privacy and your data
Do I need to create an account to use Career Guru AI?
No. The Free tier works entirely without an account or login. An account (phone OTP) is required only for paid tiers, so we can verify your purchase and save your results.
Why do you ask for my phone number?
Phone OTP (via Firebase) is how we authenticate paid users — it is the most friction-free method for Indian users and does not require a password. We do not store your OTP and we do not share your phone number with advertisers.
Why do you ask for my email address?
Email is optional. If you provide it, we use it to send: a payment receipt, a welcome confirmation, and (for Rs.499/year subscribers) an annual career insight notification. We do not send promotional or marketing emails. You can remove your email at any time from your profile settings.
Is my child's data safe?
Child profile data (name, class, board) is stored under your account on our India-based server (Contabo VPS). It is not shared with any third party. We do not collect personal information directly from children — all data is entered by the parent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Do you show ads or sell my data?
No. Career Guru AI has no advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Revenue comes only from paid plan purchases.
How do I delete my account and data?
Write to [email protected] with your registered phone number and request deletion. We will delete your account and all associated personal data within 30 days. Free user quiz data is stored in your browser session only and is automatically cleared when you close the tab.
Technical
Does the quiz use AI?
No. The quiz is a pure tap-based decision tree driven by structured JSON data. No AI is involved at any point in the quiz or result matching. AI is used only in the Rs.199+ decision summary and free-text chat features.
Why does Career Guru AI not list specific colleges?
We are a decision engine, not a college finder. Our goal is to help you choose the right stream, exams, and career path — not to rank colleges, which changes every year and varies by individual circumstances. College-specific tools like JOSAA, Shiksha, and Collegedunia are better suited for that step.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. The website is fully mobile-optimised and works on any smartphone browser. An Android app is planned post-launch.
