Privacy Policy

• Google account email and name — collected when you sign in with Google. Email is your account identity and is used for: payment receipts, welcome confirmation, and (for Rs.499/year users) annual career insight notifications. We do not send promotional or marketing emails.
• Mobile number — optional. Collected during checkout if you provide it, or captured from Razorpay after a successful payment. Used only to send WhatsApp updates if you opt in. Never used for authentication.
• Quiz responses and career selections — stored to generate your result and (for paid users) to save your career plan.
• Payment reference — we store the Razorpay order ID and payment ID to confirm your purchase. We do not store your card or bank details; these are handled entirely by Razorpay.
• Children profile data — name, class level, and board; stored only for Rs.499/year users who create child profiles.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp). Used to diagnose errors and improve the service.

• We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN, or any government identity numbers.
• We do not track you across other websites (no advertising trackers).
• We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.

• To authenticate your account and verify your purchase tier.
• To generate and save your career recommendation.
• To send you transactional emails (receipts, notifications, annual insights) only if you provide your email address, and only for paid plan users.
• To respond to support queries sent to [email protected].
• To comply with applicable law and to prevent fraud.

Your data is stored on a server provided by Contabo, located in Europe. By using our service you consent to your personal data being transferred to and stored on servers outside India. We use HTTPS (TLS) for all data in transit. Database access is restricted to our application server only — there is no public database access. Passwords are never stored because we use Google OAuth for authentication. Your email address, mobile number, and name are additionally encrypted at rest (AES-256) inside the database, so they are unreadable even in the event of unauthorised database access.

• Strictly necessary auth cookie — when you log in, we set an HTTP-only session cookie named __session to keep you signed in and verify paid access. This cookie is required for account authentication and expires in up to 7 days.
• Browser session storage — we use sessionStoragefor temporary in-tab state such as quiz resume context and result-page performance caches. This data is scoped to your browser tab and is removed when the tab is closed.
• No advertising trackers — we do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site retargeting trackers on RK Career AI.

• Google Sign-In — account authentication. Google receives your consent to share your email and name with us when you sign in. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Razorpay — payment processing. Razorpay handles all card and UPI data. See Razorpay Privacy Policy.
• Brevo (Sendinblue) — transactional email delivery. If you provide an email address, it is shared with Brevo solely to deliver emails you have requested (receipts, notifications, annual insights). Brevo does not use your email for their own marketing. See Brevo Privacy Policy.
• AI language model API — used only for Rs.199+ plan users to generate the AI decision summary and answer free-text questions. We attach only your quiz result context (goal, stream, career choices) — never your name, email, or phone number. The text you type in AI chat is sent to the AI service to generate an answer, so avoid typing personal details into chat messages.
• Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may cache pages and see request metadata (IP, URL). See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Your account email (from Google sign-in, or as updated in your profile) is used for transactional emails only. We send:

• Payment receipt — sent once upon successful purchase.
• Welcome email — sent once when you first save an email address to your account.
• Email-change notification — sent to your previous address if you update your email.
• Annual insight (Rs.499/year users only) — sent once per year with a personalised career update for each child profile.

We do not send promotional or marketing emails. Because your email is your account identity, it cannot be removed while the account exists — to stop all emails, delete your account from your profile page, or write to [email protected].

Free user quiz data is stored in your browser session only and is deleted when you close the tab. Certain temporary result-page caches are also stored in browser session storage and cleared when the tab is closed. Paid user account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you do not continue your paid plan after expiry (Rs.499 renewal or Rs.99/Rs.199 repurchase), your account data is retained for 90 days after plan expiry and then deleted. You can also delete your account anytime from your profile page.

Our service is used by parents/guardians on behalf of students. For India compliance, we treat users under 18 as children. Child profile data (name, class, board) is entered and managed by the parent/guardian account holder. We do not knowingly allow minors to make paid purchases directly; paid checkout requires confirmation that the purchaser is 18+ or a parent/guardian acting for a minor.

Under India's DPDP Act 2023 and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access — request a summary of what personal data we hold about you.
• Correct — update inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings or by writing to us.
• Delete — request erasure of your account and all associated personal data.
• Withdraw consent — opt out of optional communications (e.g. WhatsApp updates) at any time; stop all emails by deleting your account or writing to us.
• Grievance — raise a complaint with our grievance officer at [email protected].

To exercise any right, write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

We may update this policy when we add new features or as required by law. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after the update constitutes acceptance.
